Mountain Hermit is a Black Metal project born in 2012 from the mind of Ali Owl.

Ali was born in 1984 and started listening to the most disparate and obscure musical genres when he was a child (thanks to the vinyls, tapes and CDs that his large family owned).

Ali has also always cultivated a passion for books, films, comics, games, magazines of all kinds and in particular for the spiritual, mystic, dark, extreme and esoteric and paranormal related issues.

Ali has played and has been composer for several bands in his hometown in Sicily.

After several years of stopping, Ali resumed composing music in the year 2011 with the Woods at Dusk project.

During 2020, Paranøia from the greek project Vintermørke joined Mountain Hermit as singer and bassist and he is now called Papa Hermit.

Papa Hermit was born in 1999 in Trikala (Thessaly, Greece).

His relationship with music was not good until the age of 14, when he started listening to heavy metal.

At the age of 16 he started his first band covering greek rock songs.

After practicing his guitar skills intensely, and during the last days of 2019, he decided to create a black metal project called Vintermørke while at the same time he has been doing vocals as a guest for other bands.

After the mutual EP between Vintermørke and Mountain Hermit, he accepted and decided to provide Ali Owl with his vocals, bass and lyrics.

In early 2024, Lord of Horns took over from Papa Hermit and became the new vocalist.
